Jane Palmer: Portrait drawings
On this page you can see a curated selection of Jane’s portrait drawings in charcoal. For the complete archive, click here.
Jane also uses pencils but finds charcoal more expressive and sympathetic. It enables her to build up layers to create dense textures – an ‘archaeology of the face’. Jane has recently been especially interested in representing moments of trauma or crisis.
